Lynn Rothschild

Lynn Rothschild has wanted to study protists since a child. She earned a degree in biology from Yale University, a masters from Indiana University, and a Ph.D. from Brown University. She uses this diverse training to focus on the early evolution of life on earth, and how microbes could live elsewhere in the solar system. To this end, the lakes of the altiplano allow us to study microbes living under some of the highest levels of UV radiation on the earth today. Lynn has also recently become the first director of NASA's Astrobiology Strategic Analysis and Support Office, and teaches "Astrobiology and Space Exploration" at Stanford University.
