the Explorers
GB the Squirrel
GB loves to climb, is afraid of water
after his swimming accident last year, and loves to
eat nuts while exploring the geology of the landscape.
Bongo the Chimpanzee
Bongo is the team’s journalist.
He is used to warm temperatures and lots of trees, so
he gets homesick in the cold barren environment of southern
Bolivia.
Leo the Lion
Leo was born and raised on the African
plains. His interest in biology started as a cub surrounded
by all sorts of wildlife. He is the team’s biologist.
Flash the Turtle
Flash considers himself an Olympic-caliber
sprinter, despite all evidence to the contrary. Flash
is a faster thinker than he is a runner and is an excellent
problem solver. He is the team’s engineer.
Funky Monkey
A musician by trade, Funky Monkey is
mainly interested in the culture of Bolivian (music,
art, traditions, etc.). He is fluent in Spanish and
is the interpreter for the team as well as being responsible
for planning organizing the expedition.
Kermita the Frog
Kermita has studied both biology and
geophysics and is the diver who will explore the bottom
of the lake at the volcano summits.
Doc the ???
Because everyone called him “doc”,
he decided to go to medical school so he wouldn’t
feel silly every time he heard his name. Perhaps not
the best reason to study medicine, but we are happy
to have him as the team doctor.
