EventScope Helps Teachers Teach

Many teachers develop their own hands-on lessons to bring the real world into their classrooms. For example, students studying ecology may spend some class time on field trips to nearby areas of ecological interest. Teachers can spend considerable time creating meaningful learning contexts and updating their classroom resources. However, teachers interested in space science cannot easily involve students in hands-on experimentation and exploration as it is practiced by the space science community.

EventScope responds to classroom needs with the following:

  Brings otherwise-inaccessible sites of real science missions into the classroom in 3D, enabling students to use real-world situations to engage in scientific inquiry and test the scientific concepts they learn in class.

Provides modularized curriculum supplements to offer teachers maximum flexibility and independence in curriculum planning.

Uses pilot testing, teacher insight, and student feedback to improve the lessons and technology interface.
