Assessing Knowledge, Understanding, and Skills

Assessment of knowledge retention and understanding uses a combination of classroom quizzes and evaluation of tasks to accommodate more diverse learning styles.

Dynamic assessment of students' understanding is designed into the lessons, where the teacher has the opportunity to gauge the classroom learning as a whole through various group activities: brainstorming, discussion, and activities.

Dynamic assessment of students' mastery of inquiry skills is integral to the lesson activities. Throughout the lessons, teachers guide students to articulate their reasoning, evaluate their hypotheses, and debate the merits of scientific arguments.
